I am posting a quick update on my books. I am definitely in a time crunch for what I want to finish and how. I have over 14k words on the second installment of the College and Career Readiness series with my book How to Graduate with a Job Offer. This book is writing itself BUT I am finding I have less time to sit and write. This is mainly a good thing - it is because I am working a lot - I have clients and partnerships and workshops launching all over town (kind of) and this is all so positive. When I do have time to write, I am working on some other new and exciting initiatives (more to come on this).
So, I am proud to be almost half done with my chapters for that How to Graduate with a Job Offer book and it really is built off of 13 years in the classrooms of higher ed institutions with the lessons I have shared with my students with my 10+ years as an executive in Corporate America to dictate how you can manage the process of graduation and finding a career.
My other book, the second in the series on Entrepreneur-ING on how to launch your business is moving a bit slower. I only have about 6k words done on this book. Again, it is a time issue. I am finding I have less time to sit and write and when I do find time, I am adding to the book that has more words.
I am getting really comfortable with the self-publishing process and I am looking forward to getting to do it again with the new books – once I finish these two, I will have 4 books published.
I am thinking I will get to 3 books first and then the 4th book will take some more time. Having the How to Graduate with a Job Offer publish sooner than the other book is actually a strategic decision, too as I plan to focus a big part of my business in the coming months on college and career readiness. These are all of the lessons that I did not put in the first installment The Book on College Readiness but definitely cannot wait to address and publish to join the first book so that people can be helped on each step in their future planning.
The book on Entrepreneur-ING is something I also need to finish because it is focused on my lessons and skills around executing on business plans after having experiences with success and failure in being an entrepreneur since 2004, I look forward to documenting these steps and helping people do this and to be successful! You can learn with me at Wagner College Department for Lifelong Learning on how to do this, too.
What do you think about writing books? What do you think about my books? If you have read them, let me know your thoughts! Thanks! Happy Hunting.
